I love London!!!

I was born in London but left many years ago and my dream is to return – I love London. I love sitting on the pavement drinking Cappuchino watching the World go by. I love the bandstands in the parks where you  listen to music while eating ice-cream. I love the pubs, the restaurants and of-course the shopping but most of all I love the fantastic old monuments like St Pauls Cathedral and Marble Arch.

I love the imposing Tower of London, the Palace of Westminster, the British and Victoria and Albert Museums and the Tate Gallery….the wonderful Tate Gallery!

I have spent many hours walking around the Tower of London imagining the kings and queens in their finery and the coming and goings of the servants and guards. I get a sinister eerie feeling in the tower, probably because it was the place where Anne Boleyn was executed along with many other poor souls, this adds to the excitement though doesn’t it! I never tire of the place with the fantastic Tudor paintings and luxurious furniture and of-course The Crown Jewels.

Then pop across the river and you’ll find Buckingham Palace. Here you can wallow in the opulence and splendour while at the same time knowing that Buckingham Palace was actually built on the site of a brothel and it only started it’s life as the monarch’s home in the time of Queen Victoria! I bet there’s a few restless ghosts in there!

Take a short trek towards Tottenham Court Road and there shadowing most of Great Russell street you’ll find The British Museum.
Even though it’s called the British Museum you’ll find collections from Egypt, Greece, Rome, China, Mesopotamia and much more. The British Museum is certainly worth a long visit, you would struggle to see everything in just one day so stay in one of London’s many great hotels and make a weekend of it.

For some luxury travel in London try hiring a limo and take a chauffeur driven tour. Of if you feel like just taking in the atmosphere and fancy a bit of pampering then take a trip on the Magic Eye where you can see all the sites from above while sipping Champagne. Now that’s opulence!
